We have heard the sad news that the Radstock Co-op intend to close their store in the Westway in June. According to the Post Office, Radco have also resigned as post office operators and the Post Office will shortly be advertising for a new retail partner. We are in contact with Radco and their landlord, Maybrook Properties to explore whether there is a way of retaining the Coop store in this location. We are also in touch with the Post Office and have let them know that we will work with them to ensure that the town centre continues to have a post office.
Commenting on the news, Cllr Anne Hills, Leader of Frome Town Council, said: ‘This is disappointing news for Frome town centre. Both the Co-op store and post office are an important part of the town centre’s offer. I want to reassure the community that we are doing everything in our power to try to retain the Co-op and a post office operation in the town centre.’
