The following road and footpath closures are due to take place in and around Frome during August 2022.
Oldford Hill
Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Oldford Hill, for a distance of 460 metres as shown on the map:
This order will enable SCC Small Improvement Schemes to carry out junction improvement works.
The order becomes effective on the 28th July 2022 with works expected to start on the 1st August 2022 until 12th August 2022 between the hours of 00:00 – 23:59 for a total of 12 days.
Update 1st August: these works are now expected to last until 5th August and the closure will now only operate between the hours of 07:00- 18:00.

Town Centre
Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting traffic from travelling within the town centre – North Parade, Market Place, Scott Road, King Street, Stony Street, Catherine Hill, Palmer Street and Bath Street between 06.00-18.00 on Sunday 7th August 2022.
This order will enable The Frome Independent Market to take place.

Coalash Lane Mells River Access Road
Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Coalash Lane Mells River Access Road from the junction with Coalash Lane, northwards for a distance of 440 metres.
This order will enable Bristol Water to carry out works to replace leaking stop tap.
The order becomes effective on the 8th August 2022 with works also expected to start on the 8th August 2022 until 10th August 2022 between the hours of 00:00 – 23:59 for a total of 3 days.

Wallbridge Avenue

Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Wallbridge Avenue from the junction with Portway northwards to the junction with Wallbridge Avenue.
This order will enable Tonic Construction Ltd to use Temporary Traffic Signals on the A362 at the junction of Station approach.
The order becomes effective on the 11th August 2022 with works also expected to start on the 11th August 2022 until 16th August 2022 between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00 for a total of 6 days.

Milk Street
Somerset County Council have issued a temporary road closure notice prohibiting all traffic from travelling along Milk Street.
This order will enable a street party to take place.
The road will be closed on 29th August 2022 between the hours of 12.30 – 18.30.

Cherry Grove and footpaths
Somerset County Council have made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Cherry Grove for a distance of 34 metres and all pedestrian traffic from proceeding along Footpaths FR20/50 and FR20/54 as shown on the map:
This order is to enable E. G. Carter & Co Ltd to carry out re-development of a social housing site.
The works commenced on the 11th May 2021 and are expected to last until 19th October 2022 between the hours of 00.00 – 23.59.
