Frome Town Council’s latest support session for charities and community groups is at Frome Town Hall on Thursday 5th September, from 10am to 12pm. The theme for the September session is volunteer recruitment and retention, and is free to attend. Cllr Anne Hills said:
“Volunteers are the backbone of charities and community organisations; in fact, some are entirely volunteer run. There are so many wonderful people who offer their time and skills; the challenge is to retain volunteers, ensure they feel appreciated and make the best use of those skills! The Communities team organise these sessions to help our voluntary organisations in a range of different areas, to make them strong and sustainable and encourage them to form networks with one another. We know that funding is probably the single biggest issue, so as usual fundraising expert Ruth Knagg will be in attendance to offer advice after the session from 12pm to 1pm. Please come along to meet like-minded people and organisations and get involved.”
The Community Organisations Networking event takes place on Thursday 5th September from 10am to 12pm, with the option to stay until 1pm for a fundraising advice drop-in.
