Save money and get tips this autumn with Fairer Warmth

The Fairer Warmth platform

Frome Town Council’s Healthy Homes team are inviting Frome residents to sign up to Fairer Warmth, an online tool designed to help people save energy, access local and national grant funding for home improvements and get support with keeping your home warm and dry. The platform, created by the Centre for Energy Equality, offers a new way to access the services provided by the Healthy Homes team, which include energy advice, retrofit assessments and home visits from specially trained volunteers. It also hosts articles on topics including different types of insulation and heating systems, their cost, environmental impact, potential cost saving to you, and more.  Resilience Officer Jo Morris said:

“As the weather starts to cool down this autumn, it’s a good time to think about ways to save money and energy during the colder part of the year. The Fairer Warmth platform is a really useful tool; you can make a tailored plan and create lists to come back to, to help you explore your options. It isn’t just about taking big steps, like changing your heating system – it also has information about small, easy wins we can all do to save money – and of course when you save money on your energy bills, it’s usually better for the environment, too.”

Councillor Fiona Barrows said “The Healthy Homes team have found Fairer Warmth really helpful when they’re working with people to make homes warmer and drier: something we know is incredibly important for both physical and mental health. There’s so much information out there and so many options that it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. With a Fairer Warmth account, you can learn more in your own time and weigh up what could be the right option for you. We know that not everyone is comfortable using technology or just prefers to speak in person, so the Healthy Homes team is also available at regular drop-in sessions at the town hall on the first Tuesday of the month between 2pm and 4.30pm or by calling Frome Town Council on 01373 465757 and asking for someone to get in touch.

Healthy Homes is part of the lottery-funded Green and Healthy Frome, a partnership between Edventure, Frome Medical Practice and Frome Town Council. Find out about Healthy Homes at https://bit.ly/healthy-homes-frome. The Fairer Warmth platform is at https://bit.ly/frome-fairer-warmth
