The ‘Next Steps’ project to increase the number of apprenticeship opportunities in Frome is underway. Next Steps represents a new partnership between Frome Town Council and Frome Community College, with Apprenticeship Project Coordinator, Terry Bishop, now in post, and making contact with local employers interested in taking on an apprentice or finding out more about pre-apprenticeships schemes.
Earlier research had demonstrated the importance of providing a Frome based point of contact and information for employers – enabling recruitment of apprentices from a local talent pool. With his background in this field, Terry is well placed to deliver this service. The ambitious target is to create 25 new apprenticeships in Frome in the first year!
