The first of a series of free ‘Lunch Bunch’ sessions takes place on Wednesday 4th September from 12pm to 2pm, outside Frome Library. The sessions offer an opportunity to escape your desk or get out of the house and spend time chatting, playing board games and enjoying time outside. It’s free to take part; bring your own lunch or just drop by for a few minutes to see what it’s all about. Crosswords, jigsaws and board games are available, along with light refreshments. Further sessions are on Saturday 7th September at Boyle Cross, Wednesday 11th at Westway precinct, Wednesday 18th at Boyle Cross and Wednesday 25th at Kingsway precinct, outside Marks and Spencer. All sessions run from 12pm to 2pm.
Facilitator Jessica Francombe said: ‘Combat the midday slump and join us for a fun, friendly, free alternative to eating a sandwich at your desk, every Wednesday in September, with a weekend session on Saturday 7th September, in and around Frome town centre. Come for five minutes or stay for an hour or two: play a board game, or just chat to someone. The point of the Lunch Bunch sessions is connection: sometimes our lives don’t provide as many opportunities to strike up a conversation or get to know new people as we might like, especially if you work from home, or don’t have family living nearby. Hopefully there will be some lovely autumn sunshine for the sessions, too!’
