Let’s get Christmas wrapped up in Frome

With the festive season fast approaching now is a great time to start your Christmas shopping and wrapping it up before the festivities start in earnest.

With many of the local Christmas markets unable to take place again this year, there’s no need to panic as Frome has a whole host of gift buying opportunities.  Not only is there an abundance of wonderful independent shops to while away an afternoon to snap up some amazing, locally produced presents, but to help you with your gift buying again this year is the return of Frome’s Christmas market on Facebook: “Let’s get Christmas Wrapped up in Frome”.

Once you’ve joined the Facebook group, you’ll have access to the online market.  It covers every gift buying need from finding treasures in The Little Splash Shop whose bold colourful gifts are created from recycling and repurposing old items.  Or get creative yourself with Jade Pinnell and embellish your own Christmas decorations.  For the nature lover, visit wildlife and pet portrait artist Kerry Munden Starr who specialises in creating original work on pieces of reclaimed wood.  For the foodies, top it all off with Still Sisters and their wonderful artisan gin and tasting events or seasonal hampers packed full of festive goodies from Keren’s Comfort Kitchen.

Cllr Anita Collier said: “If you’re buying online anyway this year, don’t buy from the big guys, support your local businesses through this Facebook market or seek out many of our local independent traders who have their own online shops on their websites.  Also, if you can’t make the Independent Market, the Facebook market has plenty of local suppliers offering a perfect range of gifts for Christmas.  Let’s get Christmas wrapped up locally this year.”

Additionally, this year following the Christmas light switch on on Friday 26th November, there is another Little Night Market, hosted by the Independent Market in the Market Yard carpark from 4 – 8:30pm where you can support more local traders. Plus Frome’s Weekly Market runs every Saturday and Wednesday.

The Facebook market can be found here.
