A new opportunity to join Frome Town Council’s volunteer ranger team is launching in 2024, with the first meeting scheduled for Wednesday 17th January at Weylands.
Frome Town Ranger, Asia Prydia said: “Would you like an exciting opportunity to get fit, meet friends and make a difference to Frome’s lovely green spaces? Why not become a Frome Volunteer Ranger? This will be a fortnightly opportunity to help at one of our lovely green open spaces across town. Why not do something healthy that helps others, improves conditions for wildlife, and offers an opportunity to meet like-minded souls. Come to see what we are about!”
“The first meeting will be on Wednesday 17th January from 10am-12pm, meeting at the Weylands site by the noticeboard. We will be working together to undertake footpath improvement works. All tools will be provided, just bring outdoor clothing and a smile. There will even be mid-session hot drinks and biscuits!”
Environment Manager Rob Holden said: “Our team of rangers work very hard to look after Frome’s many green and outdoor spaces. By offering extra pairs of hands at these fortnightly meetings, our volunteer rangers will make a huge difference to what we can achieve. While they help us, volunteers will pick up new skills and make friends – we look forward to meeting you and getting started in January.”
