Did you know that if you have 5 employees or more, you are required by law to have a written Health & Safety policy for your business? How about that a director or owner of a business can be held liable for any failure regarding Health & Safety?
This month’s Discuss & Do, to be held at 6pm on Tuesday 25th October at The Cornerhouse, will discuss this theme with a workshop entitled ‘The Importance of Health & Safety at your Firm’.
Although health & safety policies and risk assessments are often placed on the backburner in many companies, each year these procedures are becoming increasingly essential in modern business. Hosted by Frome Chamber of Commerce and Frome Town Council, October’s Discuss & Do will invite Mike Herbert of Showsmiths Ltd and Rowena Stewart of The Lighthouse to share their years of experience and offer expert advice to help simplify putting health & safety procedures in place.
The Discuss and Do events are open for all local businesses, free to attend, and an excellent opportunity to share both ideas and practical advice with peers. As a result of their growing popularity, pre-booking is essential in order to secure a place. The sessions start at 6pm and run until 8pm. If you would like to attend the upcoming November Discuss and Do, please email Charlie Orr at Frome Town Council – orrc@frometowncouncil.gov.uk.
