Somerset Council want to know what you want to see from new development – what makes a high-quality place? Which benefits matter most to you? How can we best ensure that new development enables people to reap these benefits?
The Council is keen to hear from as many people as possible – individuals, community and voluntary groups, businesses, transport providers, landowners, and city, town, and parish councils as well as developers and their agents. This will help the Council to understand whether it is on the right track.
Frome Town Councillor Steve Tanner said: “This is your chance to let county know what we want from new developments in terms of safe, attractive, and liveable neighbourhoods. With over 2000 houses in some stage of the planning process it is clear this can’t lead to thousands more cars on the streets of Frome- we want the type of house that the residents of Frome need and can afford, and streets that make cycling, walking, and travelling by wheelchair a safe and convenient option, along with more investment in affordable public transport.”
Consultation runs from Monday 4th September to Monday 16th October 2023.
