After the success of their first litter pick in Stonebridge, Frome’s litter warriors have been busy planning the next series of litter picks around Frome. Based on suggestions from local people they are starting with Christchurch Street and the Badcox area on 28 March and meeting at Frome Town Hall at 2pm.
Mayor of Frome Richard Ackroyd said, “It is amazing what can be achieved by a group of passionate like-minded individuals coming together to make a difference. On their first litter pick alone over 20 volunteers collected 19 bags of rubbish in just one hour – these litter picks really are community spirit in action. We hope more and more people will get involved.”
The principle is simple: Regular litter pics throughout the town that based on areas of need. Frome Town Council will supply equipment, the litter warriors’ group will decide the location… and everyone is welcome to join in. The regular litter pics will be on the second Thursday and the last Saturday of the month – just turn up at one of the dates listed below. Alternatively you can borrow equipment and organise a litter pic in your area.
If there is an area of Frome that you would like the Litter Warriors to add to their list, then please do get in touch with the Litter Warriors via Frome Town Council on info@frometowncouncil.gov.uk
