A new community guide for Frome

If you’re holding a copy of this week’s Frome Times, you’ll find a new and updated community guide inside, published by Frome Town Council. The guide contains useful information and links for Frome residents on a range of topics. These include social drop-ins and mental health support groups, energy and cost-of-living advice, housing information, local transport and more.

Copies of the community guide will be available from Frome Town Hall, the Discover Frome point in Frome Library, at Frome Medical Practice, The Good Heart, and at various community venues. The guide is also included in the Winter Warmth Packs available from Frome Town Hall, and a digital version will be available to download from the Frome Town Council website.

Councillor Anne Hills said “This leaflet is designed to signpost people in Frome to a wide range of helpful services. It’s especially useful during the winter months, which we know are harder for many. You’ll find information about Frome’s network of Warm Spaces, support available with energy costs, debt advice and places to get a free hot meal, if you need one.

“However, the leaflet is designed to be useful all year round and for all residents, bringing people together for friendship and connection and fostering links between people and organisations. A previous version of this leaflet was very well received in 2022: this new edition builds on it, for a handy one-stop-shop for residents. Whether you’re looking for information about health walks or Frome Parkrun, want to make new friends at one of Frome’s many social drop-ins, or find out more about retrofitting your home for greater energy efficiency, you can find what you need to know here. The new Community Guide exists to make sure everyone knows about the many groups, activities and support services available in Frome’s supportive community, and where to go in an emergency.”

The Community Guide is enclosed with the 4th January edition of the Frome Times, and also available from Frome Town Hall, Frome Library, Frome Medical Practice and The Good Heart, 7 Palmer St, Frome BA11 1DS. A digital copy can be downloaded from https://bit.ly/community-guide-2024.
