Local artists will light up Frome town centre for this year’s ‘Snow Ball’ themed Christmas Extravaganza on Friday 27th November.
As well as the switching on of the Christmas lights, the annual event will this year feature projections from local artists, illustrators, photographers and school children in key locations around the town.
The Mayor of Frome, Kate Bielby, said, ‘With music from the Frome Symphony Orchestra, local bands and choirs to accompany the illuminations as well as plenty of festive food and drink, the Snow Ball promises to be the perfect start to the Christmas celebrations.’
The main event kicks off in the Market Place at 7pm and from 5pm there will be free children’s activities at Frome Library and the chance to meet Santa at the PAC Christmas Grotto in the Westway.
Throughout November local schools will be taking part in arts workshops on the Snow Ball theme and NVB Architects are inviting children to design projections to ‘Light Up Rook Lane’ on the evening of the Extravaganza between 5-7pm.
Of course there will also be plenty of opportunity for a bit of Christmas shopping, with shops opening late as well as the Cheese and Grain’s Christmas gift and craft market.
The Christmas Extravaganza is supported using public funding by Arts Council England and Frome Town Council.
The event organisers would also like to thank Lilley’s Cider, Frome Kumon Centre, the Cheese and Grain and Cash Brokers for supporting this event.
