A ‘Live for Under 5s’ event comes to at Frome Town Hall on Thursday 27th February from 10am to 1pm, sharing information about services available to families with young children. Attendees include statutory services such as the health visiting team and charities including Baby Connections, Evolve Music’s ‘Dads Rock’, Purple Elephant and The Good Heart. Cllr Carla Collonette said:
“The Family Information Network Directory (FIND) is a vital source of online information for families in Frome. Many of the organisations you’ll find in the directory will be at the event on 27th February to talk about the offering for under fives in Frome. There are free refreshments and a play space by Little Discoveries, so it’s not just a source of information; it’s a fun, free morning out with your little ones, too.”
Lisa Merryweather-Millard, also town councillor for Keyford Ward, will be at the event to demonstrate the lumin&us mental health app for children and families, now available to download from the Frome Medical Practice website. Lisa and co-founder Charlotte Jenkins recently won a prestigious Women in Innovation award for their work creating the app. Lisa Merryweather said
“Are you finding family life tricky? lumin&us is proven to help parents of 3-12 year olds understand their children’s behaviours, manage their child’s big emotions and strengthen relationships and reduce conflict. Due to a collaboration with Frome Medical Practice, Frome Families can enjoy free access to the lumin&us app for one year, using the offer code FMP412MTHS.”
Sue Willis of Purple Elephant Family Support said:
‘Purple Elephant offers a range of different services for local families, including those with preschool children. Our play sessions are very much about reinforcing the wonderful bond between child and adult in the early years and supporting people towards positive parenting.”
