Frome Town Council’s grants committee is inviting groups and organisations in need of funding to apply for its latest round of community grants, which opens on Monday 3rd March. The fund is available for applications of up to £3,000 from groups or organisations who can demonstrate how their project will support FTC’s ambition ‘to build a town that is environmentally sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous, with a community that is more resilient, happier, and better able to shape its own future.’

Mayor Andy Jones, chair of the Grants Committee, said:

“Are you looking to get a project for Frome off the ground but can’t find the funding for it? Frome Town Council’s Grants Committee may be able to help. If you think that your project will have a direct and positive impact on Frome and its residents, we encourage you to apply for up to £3,000 to make it happen. Applications are accepted between Monday 3rd March and 5pm on Wednesday 23rd April. The Grants Committee will meet on Wednesday 4th June to decide which projects will benefit from a grant this time.”

Peter Travis of Frome and Villages bus user group (FAVBUG), who received a grant of £1,995 to help promote bus usage in November 2024, said:

“The grant from Frome Town Council helps to support our campaign for a better bus service for Frome. It helps to ensure we get bus timetables to the people who need them. Frome probably holds more bus events than any other town in Somerset and we are greatly helped by the support from the Town Council.”
