Young Somerset’s vision is delivered through three strands of work: Targeted Youth Work; Alternative Learning Provision and Enterprise; Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Support.
Targeted Youth Work – This is work with vulnerable young people, who have specific needs or characteristics requiring a focused response. Young Somerset identify and support young people, finding ways to strengthen their resilience and ability to bring about positive change.
Alternative Learning Provision and Enterprise – Targeted or focused programmes, often for young people for whom mainstream education isn’t working. Through working with Young Somerset, young people can gain skills and accreditation to develop their economic and social wellbeing and future employability.
Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Support – Delivered in partnership with the NHS, offering much-needed help to young people aged 5-18 with things like low-mood, anxiety and stress. Young Somerset’s specialist practitioners work in both community and education contexts.
