Frome Rotary

The Rotary Club of Frome, part of a global network of 1.4 million volunteers, was formed in 1925 to support the local community and support the efforts of Rotary throughout the world. The Club has a long history of supporting a wide range of charities and community groups in and around Frome.

We are joint custodians of the Santa Float in Frome in partnership with the Lions Club of Frome. We are also custodian of a local charity, GIFT (giftfriendshiptrust.org.uk), which provides bursaries for young people to live and work in developing countries.

Most recently we ran the highly successful charity shop along with Frome Selwood and Frome Town Rotary Clubs and the Inner Wheel Club of Frome.

Our charity, Rotary Club of Frome Charitable Trust (No 1100424) has been in operation for over 20 years. We host many groups fundraising activities to support effective management and the ability to secure funds via Gift Aid.

Our Charity administers funds in 2 ways to aid community support.

Our “Charity Fund” deals with larger fund requests and support which are decided upon at Club level.

Our “Frome Deserving Causes” account distributes the funds raised by the Christmas float. This fund is administered by the Community Committee who give support to individuals who approach us via a ‘professional’ support worker. In addition, they work with requests from charities and organisations and co-ordinate with efforts with other support organisations in Frome.
