Network Rail have advised that they will be carrying out refurbishments to the railway bridge near the Cheese and Grain in December. The works will also include renewing and replacing worn out track in the area.
They have provided advance notice and details of the work planned and have already sent letters to residents. They are also holding a drop in at the Cheese and Grain on Tuesday 4th October between 4:30pm and 7pm for those that live close by and would like further details and to chat about the planned works. The session will take place in room 3 which is upstairs at the Cheese and Grain and fully accessible.
The main part of their works will take place during the closure of the railway, the work will be continuous, 24 hours around the clock working between 24th December to 7th January. Additional shift work will also take place before and after these railway closure dates.
Network Rail advise that they are aware that they will be working close to homes and will try to minimise disruption. If you are unable to make their drop in on 4th October or if you have any additional questions or concerns regarding the work taking place then you can call their dedicated 24-hour national helpline on 03457 11 41 41 or visit the Network Rail website.
