Work gets underway by the river at Welshmill

You may have noticed lots of work underway by the river at Welshmill, on the opposite side to the play park. Two projects are happening there: firstly the muddy path is being transformed by MindSet into a formal footpath and, once Network Rail have given permission, there will be the choice of steps or a gently sloping ramp to access the Henley Way end.  This work is funded by Mendip District Council, Frome Town Council, and a contribution from Rossetti House owners and will be complete by the end of the year. Secondly, this year’s apprentices at Edventure are tackling the triangle of green space alongside that has been overgrown for many years. Using ‘Awards for All’ funding, they are going to create a tranquil community garden and an open-sided wooden roundhouse. Here is a photo of the model they built. Work starts imminently!
