Representatives from the Town Council and Frome Dog Walkers met on 15 July and agreed a compromise over the issue of dogs on leads in Victoria Park (bandstand side) with dogs continuing to be excluded from the Mary Bailey Playing Field. It will be proposed to the various bodies that there be a Dog Control Order that all dogs must be on leads in Victoria Park from 10 am until 6.30 pm from 1st April until 30 September beginning in April 2015. Dogs will be permitted to be off lead in Victoria Park (bandstand side) at all other times.
The police will be enforcing these and are able to issue fixed penalties. As with all these things, there is a formal process that now needs to be gone through and we shall let you know when they have been implemented.
