Frome’s Great Big Spring Clean 2025

Cllr Anne Hills and Mayor Andy Jones get busy at this year’s Spring Clean

More than 60 people gathered at the Boyle Cross on Thursday 20th March for Frome’s contribution to the annual Great British Spring Clean. They spent two hours tackling weeds, litter and graffiti across the town centre and enjoyed a free hot drink from Critchill School’s refreshments van for their efforts.

Cllr Anne Hills said: “We had a fantastic turnout for this year’s Spring Clean, with even more willing volunteers this year than in previous years. There were over 60 members of the public, staff and councillors from FTC who helped weed, litter pick and generally give the town centre a spruce up. Not only that, but we’re currently in the middle of the Kindness Festival, so this really feels like we’re looking after our town, doing our bit to be kind to ourselves and to the planet. Thank you to everyone who was involved – Frome looks brilliant.”

The Great British Spring Clean is an annual event hosted by Keep Britain Tidy, encouraging people to volunteer their time to fill bags of litter and take care of their local area. Find out more at https://www.keepbritaintidy.org/get-involved/support-our-campaigns/great-british-spring-clean.
