Change of rules opens up opportunities to join FTCBS board

The criteria for membership of the Frome Town Community Benefit Society (FTCBS) have been changed to allow greater flexibility for anyone wishing to stand for election at the forthcoming AGM. The AGM takes place at 7pm on Tuesday 10th December at Frome Town Hall, and all are welcome to attend, to stand or to vote in the election.

Until recently, it was necessary to have held membership of the FTCBS for at least six months before standing for election to the FTCBS board. In order to open up the process to a broader range of people, potential directors need only be members by 26th November, two weeks before the AGM date. FTCBS Secretary David Parry said:

“We voted for this important change to membership rules at our recent meeting because we want as many people as possible to be in a position to stand for the ten roles available on the FTCBS board. We’ve tackled many of the initial problems facing Badgers Hill, and now we’re ready to start a new and exciting chapter for football, and for the use of Badgers Hill by the wider community. There’s a role to suit you if you’re invested in Frome’s footballing tradition. If you have a gift for bringing people on board and liaising with charities and community groups who could benefit from the facilities at Badgers Hill, we want to hear from you. Could you help with our marketing and communications, keep financial records and budget for the future? If you can spare a few hours a month and you’d like to be involved in this important project, please consider sharing your skills and browsing the various roles available.
