Be part of the future of Frome Walking Festival

Walkers assemble outside the Cheese & Grain

Frome Walking Festival took place between 16th and 18th August, with 18 walks for all ages and interests. Les Stather of Frome Walkers are Welcome said:

“Frome Walkers Are Welcome would like to thank Selwood Rotary, Frome Town Council and all the walk leaders that made this year’s Walking Festival a very successful event.  It was enjoyed by nearly 300 people, with something for all tastes and abilities. Those who signed up enjoyed a variety of walks including one exploring the blue plaques of Frome, a walk to Orchardleigh,  the five-mile Frome Inner Ring and a 13-mile walk around The Frome Walking Wheel. Virginia Saggers, local ‘whistorian’ aka Ginny Adams of Rare Species Theatre Company led a group around the town on a silent disco walk. The Walkers Are Welcome committee has decided that this popular festival will be an annual event offering a similar, wide variety of walks every year. We’re always looking for new committee members with new walks to explore –  if you’re interested in promoting walking  in Frome and would like to join our small committee, which meets every couple of months for an hour or two, please get in touch.”

The date for the 2025 Walking Festival will be confirmed next year. Further information about the Walking Festival and Frome Walkers are Welcome, plus information about local walking routes and useful contacts can be found on the Discover Frome website.
