Frome Community Bike Project will be popping up all over Frome between March and September offering free cycling support. These events have been made possible after receiving National Lottery funding through the Together Fund funded by Sport England and distributed by Sustrans. Emma Parker from FCBP says “We’re so grateful to have received this funding and we’ll be putting it to good use offering free events to the community. From bike repairs and teaching bike maintenance skills to teaching cycle confidence classes and leading bike rides that explore some of our beautiful countryside and routes along the Sustrans’ National Cycle Network.”
Bring your bike along to a Dr Bike session for a free safety check with one of our mechanics. Or if you want to get stuck in and learn how to fix your own bike you can join one of our free Bike Maintenance classes. Save money and keep your bike on the road by doing simple repairs yourself.
Join a free Cycle Confidence class with one of our cycle instructors to learn how to cycle confidently and safely on roads. Cycle training offers something for everyone whether you’ve cycled for years or are completely new to cycling.
We’ll also be offering a series of free Community Bike Rides following beautiful routes of between 11 and 15 miles long. We can’t completely avoid the hills around Frome, but we have planned lots of rest stops along the way and no one will be left behind!

We will also be running drop-in Dr Bike sessions on the 18th March between 11am and 2pm at Edmund Park and again on the 1st April outside Frome library between 9am and 2pm, during the market where we will also have a selection of refurbished bikes for sale.
Frome Community Bike Project is a new bike recycling centre and community cycle hub for Frome. We hope to have a workshop space set up and ready to visit in the Spring. All profits from the project will go to local charity Frome’s Missing Links to support their campaign to link up traffic free routes in and around Frome.
