New facilities – consultation open now
Frome Town Council, Frome Town Community Benefit Society and Frome Town Football Club are hosting public consultation events at Badgers Hill stadium on Saturday 24th February from 1pm to 3pm, and Saturday 2nd March from 10am to 1pm. The events offer an opportunity to view the designs for new changing rooms and multipurpose rooms on the site, ahead of the planning application submission in early March. In August 2022 Frome Town Council (FTC) and Frome Town Football Club (FTFC) signed a deal to help secure the football ground as a community asset. The deal, worth just over £300k, paid off a third-party lender. In return, FTC will have the option to buy the ground for £1 at any point over the next twelve months.
On 3rd October FTC and FTFC, with support of the Football Supporters Association (FSA), hosted an event at The Clubhouse at the ground on Badgers Hill to lay out the current situation with the club and ask the people of Frome to help protect football in our town for future generations. Over 120 people attended the event and there was overwhelming support for the club to move towards community ownership. A full public report will follow.
