Frome Town Council is launching a series of free energy advice sessions to help people reduce their energy bills. There will be a weekly ‘energy café’ at the Town Hall between 10-12pm every Tuesday starting on 11th December and running through until the end of February.
There will also be monthly energy advice sessions at Frome Medical Practice on the second Wednesday of each month from 2- 4pm starting Wednesday 12th December.
Councillor Sheila Gore said ‘With winter kicking in it’s a good time to look at how we can make our homes warmer and save money.’
Resilience Manager Anna Francis said ‘we have a team of experienced energy advisors who can help. Even simple things like draught proofing can make a huge difference to comfort levels. There are grants available for boiler upgrades and insulation for low income households. And green energy providers such as Bulb are now cheaper than ‘fossil fuel’ energy providers in some cases.’
If you can’t make a session there is a free energy help line for Frome residents run by who have all the latest info on grants and energy saving on 0800 082 2234.’
There is also a home energy check available at: www.frometowncouncil.gov.uk/warm-and-well
