The Healthy Homes team along with the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) are hosting further free drop-in energy advice sessions this autumn to help you create an energy efficient home in uncertain energy price times.
On Friday 16th September, the session will take place at Frome Library from 10am to 4pm, and Saturday 1st October sees the return of the Easy Wins Energy Café at the Town Hall, where you can pop in for a chat, cuppa and cake from 10am – 12pm. At both of the sessions, trained advisors will be on hand to offer free advice on energy bills, home insulation or dealing with energy debt.
Cllr Anne Hills said: “With autumn well and truly upon us and with further energy price increases looming, now is the time to get your house in order – quite literally! These energy advice drop-in sessions are invaluable; every home is different so the team will be able to advise how you can make your home more energy efficient to ensure you’re cosy this coming winter and making the most of your energy usage.”
Frome Town Council and Frome Medical Practice partner with CSE to run the Healthy Homes Project which delivers energy advice sessions as part of the Lottery Funded Green & Healthy Futures project. The team have recently recruited 5 Energy Advice Champions; these volunteers are currently being trained by CSE and means even more energy advice sessions will be available in the future. The volunteers will also be able to do home visits to help most vulnerable residents install simple energy saving measures such as draught proofing, thermal curtains, LED light bulbs, radiator panels and to help set up heating controls. Keep an eye out on the Frome Town Council’s website for further details soon.
