Polly has lived, worked and raised four children in Frome over the last 20 years and is proud to call it home. She ran an ethical letting agency in the town centre for 11 years and is now a freelance project worker and a director of Fair Housing for Frome. Polly has been involved in the music and theatre communities in Frome over the years and would like to see the arts continue to thrive for the wellbeing of the whole community.
She was inspired by the way that Independents for Frome challenged the typical parish council system. “The opportunity to stand as an independent councillor has great appeal to me. It demonstrates a willingness to negotiate and work on local issues as a team, rather than be influenced by a political party line which may have little relevance to the people we actually serve.
I believe strongly in an equitable council; one which has a wide range of voices and life experiences and I’m excited about the strong representation of women in this administration. I’m passionate about tackling housing poverty and have found my work with Fair Housing for Frome as a Director and a volunteer both challenging and rewarding.”
