Students from Frome College have been busy making a short film for Frome Town Council. The film was made to feature on discoverfrome.co.uk, which has just been relaunched and focuses on events and things to do in Frome.
The students, Liam Mcpherson, Jospeph Dobson, Rihannon James, Kai Hayes Stone and Louis Tozer were asked to create something for the eyes of people who may have never been to Frome, to give them a better idea of what to expect when they visit. They chose to create a short “day out in Frome” and filmed in shops and cafes that they enjoy.
Liam said “Frome is a lovely little town that has a very strong emphasis on independent businesses. There are lots of shops, cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants as well as a monthly market that makes Frome a unique town. We wanted to show this in our videos. We wanted to show off the best that Frome has to offer and capture what Frome is all about and what it’s like to be in Frome.”
Rhys Jones College tutor said “All students involved are the extremely talented media producers of tomorrow, and this is an excellent initiative for them to get their talents known and utilised around the community and beyond. We at Frome College are thoroughly proud of them and this great step towards a wider career.”
Councillor Kate Bielby said “This was a perfect opportunity to create some new visual media that celebrates Frome and who better to make it than talented media students we have right here in town? We hope working with the town council has been a valuable experience for them and the end product is a great addition to their CVs. A bonus is that the film really showcases what’s on offer here for younger people. A big thank you to them for their work”
