Frome Town Council, in association with the charity Zero Carbon World, has installed two wall-mounted electric car chargers, where those using electric vehicles or an electric car from a car-club can top up their vehicle’s battery free of charge.
Cara Naden Reliance Officer at the Town Council said “We realise that there is a need to support electric cars to encourage a mass uptake in order to tackle the serious problems of air pollution and we see the installation of these easy-to-access electric car charging stations as an extra service for residents and visitors to Frome. This is part of a wider UK scheme to support electric cars on the road to reduce the burning of fossil fuels which cause air pollution.
People visiting Frome locations while driving electric cars with a Type 2 charging cable, can use the charging stations located at Frome Football Club, Frome Town Hall along with the ones already installed at the Cheese and Grain and Frome Medical Centre.”To find out more about the electric car chargers contact Cara Naden on 01373 465 757
