Hear how the Town Council is improving its communications

Frome Town Council’s meetings actively encourage public participation; discussions about items on the agenda include the opinions of elected Cllrs and members of the public. Sitting together, topics are talked about and people can share their views with the rest of the meeting.

The next Council Matters Committee is on 24 August, 7pm at the Assembly Rooms, on Christchurch Street West.

On the agenda is a discussion on the way the council communicates, including statistics, methods, how people are finding its communication, and what the council can do to improve areas.

As part of our work to continue to engage more with the community, there will be a discussion looking at what participatory budgeting is and how it might work in Frome. It is likely that there will be a decision on whether to move forward with the process.

Other matters being discussed at the meeting include: an update from Gary Collinson on the work he is doing for Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership

Meetings are open to all and everyone is encouraged to contribute to discussions. You can find out what’s on the agenda by visiting https://www.frometowncouncil.gov.uk/meeting/council-co-ordination-2/ or checking out the council’s Facebook page: www.facebook.com/FromeTownCouncil/ or on Twitter @FromeCouncil

Dates for all meetings can be found here, and are also on noticeboards in the town.
