Frome Chamber of Commerce together with Frome Town Council are holding a special ‘Discuss & Do’ Social Media Workshop at the Cheese & Grain on Tuesday 26 July.
Social Media is now a fact of life for businesses, whether you are running a small independent shop, an estate agent, a café or beauty salon – social media has to be part of your marketing mix. If you are running a business you probably use it but how often do you use it and are you getting the most out of it? Do you look at other businesses’ social media campaigns and eye catching posts and wonder how they do that or how effective it might be for you to do the same?
Getting existing and potential customers to follow you is an art in itself, building up that following and using it effectively is the next step. Once you have that following it’s a question of how much you should post on social media without bombarding or annoying your customer base, there is much to consider in this new online age.
Town Centre Coordinator Mark Brookes said “A couple of months ago we ran a small Discuss & Do session covering basic social media issues. That event was very popular and many people asked for something a little more detailed. We are lucky to have many pro-active and successful businesses here in Frome, a number of whom thrive on their social media profiles, generating new customers and increased sales with well thought out and targeted posts. Some of those business owners will be sharing their knowledge at this proactive workshop, showing how they use Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and other media. I think that this workshop style event is a must for anyone wanting to understand how social media can work for their business.”
The Discuss & Do Social Media Workshop takes place between 6pm and 9pm on Tuesday 26 July upstairs at The Cheese & Grain. The event is free but places are limited. Booking is essential so please reserve your place by emailing Mark Brookes at brookesm@frometowncouncil.gov.uk
